Following Completion of Orthopaedic surgery training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Dr Lambers completed several years of further general and subspecialty training:

  • Trauma and Arthroplasty Fellowship, Northeast Health Wangaratta (2023, 12-months): Providing surgical care for patients with fractures as well as those with hip, knee and shoulder arthritis requiring joint replacement surgery
  • The prestigious ABC (Australia By Caravan) Travelling Fellowship (2024, 12-months): Visitations to leading orthopaedic surgeons around Australia whilst circumnavigating the coast with his family
  • Perth Hip and Knee Robotic Joint Replacement Fellowship (PHK; 2025, 6-months): With Mr Dermot Collopy and Mr Gavin Clark, two of the most experienced robotic hip and knee surgeons in Australia and research leaders in this field
  • Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Fellowship (POSM; 2025, 6-months): A sports injury and complex hip and pelvic surgery fellowship with Mr Ross Radic and Mr Sam Young

Research

Dr Lambers holds two research degrees: a Bachelor of Medical Science for a thesis on computer-assisted hip replacements and a Master of Surgery for a thesis on implant fatigue failure in hip fractures. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge continues as he pursues a PhD in further studies on alloy metallurgy and fatigue failure in hip fractures. In 2023, Anton was awarded the prestigious Francis & Phyllis Thornell-Shore Medical Research Scholarship from The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to support his doctoral studies. Throughout his career, Dr Lambers has published more than 20 papers and given more than 40 podium presentations at state, national and international conferences. Teaching

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lambers is passionate about teaching. He has contributed to developing orthopaedic educational content on platforms like Orthobullets and his own teaching channel, OsteoClassed. Along with all of this, numerous research awards and scholarships complement his qualifications and unwavering commitment to patient care and the advancement of orthopaedic science.
