Dr Anton Lambers is an orthopaedic surgeon passionate about helping patients regain their much-deserved mobility. Dr Lambers has specialised in the fields of hip, knee and shoulder replacement and sports surgery (such as ACL ruptures, meniscal injury, ankle instability and shoulder dislocations). Dr Lambers’ broad training and fellowship exposure also means that he has maintained his skills and continues to offer care for a range of other upper and lower limb conditions. He does not manage conditions of the spine, aggressive bone and soft tissue cancers or general paediatric conditions.
Born and raised in Melbourne, he completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree, a Bachelor of Medical Science by research, a Master of Surgery by research and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Lambers is currently pursuing a PhD in prosthesis alloy metallurgy in hip fractures and is deeply committed to teaching and research, with numerous publications and presentations in the field.
He offers specialist orthopaedic care to people in the Ovens and Kiewa Valleys from communities such as Mt Beauty, Bright and Myrtleford out to the regional cities of Wangaratta and Albury. Anton performs procedures at Northeast Health Wangaratta (Public) and Wangaratta Private Hospital (Private), as well as minor procedures in the Alpine Shire (Mt Beauty).
